Advisory Committees

The AIB is deeply committed to the most extensive possible stakeholder engagement that values the rich diversity of Maryland to assist the AIB in implementing the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future and transforming Maryland's education system into a world class system. In order to closely involve as many stakeholders from diverse geographic, economic, racial, ethnic, cultural, and gender backgrounds who represent various life experiences and viewpoints as possible from across the State, the Board established four advisory committees focused on four of the five Blueprint Pillars.

Purpose of Advisory Committees:

  1. To channel input from various stakeholders representing the rich diversity of Maryland with members and perspectives coming from diverse geographic, racial, ethnic, cultural, and gender backgrounds;

  2. To identify problems, challenges, and barriers that may arise and provide insights and suggestions on what the AIB can do to address them; and

  3. To share successes and provide input/feedback on how the work of the AIB and the Blueprint implementation are progressing.

In May and June 2022, the AIB sought applications and nominations for the four advisory committees. The selections were announced in July 2022, as shown on the “Pillar” pages that you can navigate to by selecting the “Pillar” tabs on the left side of this page.

Advisory Committee members will serve 1-2 year terms for appointments beginning in 2022. When the nomination/application pool opens again, information will be posted here.
