Mission
The AIB oversees implementation of the Blueprint for Maryland's Future to achieve the Blueprint's outcomes. The Board is to evaluate the data submitted to it by units of government responsible for implementing any part of the Blueprint for Maryland's Future, assess the effectiveness of the Blueprint implementation, hold State and local government accountable, and evaluate whether the Blueprint's outcomes are being achieved with fidelity.
Vision
The AIB will guide, support, and monitor successful implementation of the Blueprint to achieve the goals of the Blueprint for Maryland's Future.
Board Members
The AIB is governed by a seven-member Board supported by an executive director and staff. The seven Board members collectively have a high level of knowledge and expertise in (1) early education through secondary education policy; (2) postsecondary education policy; (3) teaching in public schools; (4) strategies used by top-performing states and national education systems in the world; (5) leading and implementing systemic change in complex organizations; and (6) financial auditing and accounting. The Board reflects the geographic, racial, ethnic, cultural and gender diversity of the State, to the extent practicable.

Advisory Committees
The AIB is deeply committed to the most extensive possible interest holder engagement that values the rich diversity of Maryland to assist the AIB in implementing the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future and transforming Maryland's education system into a world class system. The AIB established advisory committees for each Blueprint pillar. Advisory committees meet at least quarterly and often invite guests to share about pillar specific information.
