Justin Robinson, NBCT is a mathematics literacy coach and middle school math teacher in Prince George's County public schools. Over the last twelve years Mr. Robinson has taught all four core subjects (reading, math, science, and social studies) and has taught Board Certification in Early Adolescence Mathematics since 2017. Even as an instructional coach, Mr. Robinson remains committed to also serving as a teacher of record with his own students to remain grounded in the classroom and the realities that affect teachers on a daily basis.
Mr. Robinson has served in other roles throughout Prince George's County Public Schools (PGCPS). He has been a math department chair, masters scheduler, curriculum writer, after school program coordinator, and National Board mentor. Outside of PGCPS, he has been a policy fellow with TeachPlus and an adjunct professor with Prince George's County Community College. Currently, Mr. Robinson is on the Board of Directors of the Prince George's County Educator's Association (PGCEA), his local National Education Association (NEA) affiliate. His most significant contributions to PGCEA have been in serving as part of the negotiations team on behalf of the union's 10,000 members and also working collaboratively with PGCPS administration as part of the Career Ladder Development Team.
Justin Robinson holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from Harvard University, Master of Education Degree from the University of Maryland College Park, and a Certificate in Administration and Supervision from The Johns Hopkins University. He holds a Maryland Advanced Professional Teaching Certificate with endorsements in Mathematics (grades 4-9 & 7-12), English Language Arts (grades 4-9), Science (grades 4-9), Social Studies (grades 4-9), Economics, and Administration I/II. Currently, he is a doctoral candidate at Johns Hopkins where he is researching teacher attrition among mid-career and veteran educators. He is proud to conduct his research in Prince George's County Public Schools, the district through which he matriculated and now teaches.
