Mara R. Doss, EdD is the former Associate Vice President for Teaching, Learning, and Student Success at Prince George's Community College where in partnership with Prince George's County Public Schools, she led the design and establishment of five middle colleges throughout Prince George's County, including the Academy of Health Sciences, the first middle college high school in Maryland.

Through these highly sought-after college access programs, low-income, first-generation college, and minority students have completed both a high school diploma and an associate degree at the same time within four years. Students attend a nominal or no cost—thus saving thousands of dollars in tuition. Graduates have earned associate degrees in health sciences, information technology, and other high-demand fields with scholarships to universities in Maryland and throughout the country. Additionally, Dr. Doss oversaw Career Technical Education (CTE) and the College and Career Transitions Program that is awarded roughly $2M each year from state, county, and private entities to provide career readiness, internship, and skills training for non-traditional and at-risk populations.​​​​​​

She received a Bachelor of Science in Teacher Education, along with post-secondary teacher certification, from Robert Morris University in Pennsylvania. A proud HBCU alumnus, she earned a Master of Arts in Human Resource Development from Bowie State University and Doctor of Education in Community College Leadership from Morgan State University. Dr. Doss is actively engaged in community service through here sorority, Alpha Kappa Alpha, Inc., and is a volunteer mentor and reading tutor for school-age girls who reside in subsidized housing. ​​​​​​​​
